Can I become chartered without a master's degree?
Yes! Even if you don’t have a master’s degree, you can still become chartered if you have an accredited bachelor’s degree (BEng or BSc Hons).
However, you’ll need to complete "further learning" to meet the required level for Chartered Engineer (CEng) status. You have two options:
Further learning through education – Complete an accredited master’s degree (MSc).
Further learning through work – Gain additional knowledge and skills on the job.
Some employers offer structured training programs—check if yours does.
If not, you can work independently, and we’ll help track your progress.
Another option is the technical report route, which can also help you qualify.
So, even without a master’s, you can still achieve chartered status!
